Our Team

Oundle Mencap Holidays is run entirely by volunteers. We operate a structure which allows for one on one care for our holiday makers at all times, with the flexibility to support any specific requirements as needed.

Helpers

The primary carers on the summer holiday are sixth formers, largely from Oundle School, who provide one on one care, 24 hours a day, during the whole holiday.

Group Leaders

The helpers are supported by 12 Group Leaders, who are generally university undergraduates with at least three years’ experience on the holiday. They demonstrate good practice, provide a first line of support for the helpers and children – and keep everyone in the right place at the right time.

Senior Team

Our senior management team consists of older volunteers with many years of Oundle Mencap volunteering under their belt. They bring a wide range of professional experience, offering skills such as special educational needs teaching, medical care and accounting which are used both during the holidays and in planning and preparation throughout the year.
