Our Team
Our Team
Oundle Mencap Holidays is run entirely by volunteers. We operate a structure which allows for one on one care for our holiday makers at all times, with the flexibility to support any specific requirements as needed.

Helpers
The primary carers on the summer holiday are sixth formers, many of whom are either pupils at, or recent leavers from Oundle School, who provide one on one care, 24 hours a day, during the whole holiday.
Having been a pupil at Oundle School is by no means a pre requisite for volunteering with us, with many of our Helpers coming from other local schools, or joining us through friends.
Specialist Helpers
The small Specialist Helper team is a group of more experienced volunteers, who will each offer focussed support for any Holiday Makers and Helpers that my require it.
Our Specialist Helpers will generally support a specific Holiday Maker throughout the course of our holiday as well as assisting Helpers develop their understanding and confidence.
Group Leaders
The helpers are supported by 12 Group Leaders, who are generally university undergraduates with at least three years’ experience on the holiday.
They demonstrate good practice, provide a first line of support for the Helpers and Holiday Makers – and keep everyone in the right place at the right time.
Senior Team
Our senior management team consists of older volunteers with many years of Oundle Mencap volunteering under their belt.
They bring a wide range of professional experience, offering skills such as special educational needs teaching, medical care and accounting which are used both during the holidays and in planning and preparation throughout the year.
Board of Trustees
The OMH Board of Trustees perform the functions as outlined by the Charity Commission, which includes monitoring of the Registered Manager, the creation of annual reports and their submission to governing bodies as well as annual policy reviews and updates, and monitoring of finances.
